Samuel Favez

BIOGRAPHY

Samuel Favez, drummer, musician and composer, is characterized by his versatility and open-mindedness. The product of both self-taught learning and advanced musical studies, he was taught by professors Marcel Papaux, Cyril Regamey and François Bauer. Furthermore, he perfected his skills with professors including Arthur Hnatek (Tigran Hamasyan), Ziv Ravitz (Shai Maestro) and Antoine Brouze.

Strongly influenced by jazz — and by drummers such as Brian Blade, Tony Williams, Elvin Jones and Chris Dave among others — he was fortunate during his career to share the stage with musicians such as Dado Moroni, Pierre Favre, Jeff Baud, Thomas Dobler and Bänz Oester. Constantly on the lookout for new experiences, he is open to different styles, such as African music (Ernest Ikwanga), Afro-Cuban (El Gran Cambo Caliente) and even pop, with the singers Pascal Auberson and Jo Mettraux.
