EMILIO GIOVANIOLI

Double Bass

Born in 1995, Emilio Giovanoli is a double bass player originally from Ticino (South Switzerland). He first entered the world of music age 9 when he started taking piano lessons. During his teenage years, he found a passion for the electric bass and then for the double bass.

He is currently studying in the jazz section at the prestigious HEMU school in Lausanne. His style is firmly grounded in the line of bass players such as Larry Grenadier or Charlie Haden, yet he also likes bringing to his playing different musical colours borrowed from classical music or even Latin American or African grooves.

He is active on the musical scene in French-speaking Switzerland as well as Ticino.
